Black Temple Lore

Once a place of worship for the Draenai, the Temple of Karabor served as the focal point of their faith. Since then it has changed hands many times, first falling under the control of the Warlocks of the Shadow Council and their demonic magic, the temple was later to become the demon general Magtheridon's sear of power. Under the name bestowed to it by the orcish spellcasters, the Black Temple would become the scene of a battle between Magtheridon and Illidan, the betrayer. Illidan would finally claim the temple as his own. What remains of the proud Draenai temple is now a darkened shell from where Illidan and his minions rule the remains of Draenor, now known as the Outlands.

The Black Temple is a tier 6 raid instance, the highest in the Burning Crusade expansion. Just like Mount Hyjal, entrance to it is granted only to those who have fully completed the previous tier of raiding, and are now looking for the unltimate challenge, a showdown with Illidan Stormage himself.
